Episode Zero: Another Food Podcast?
In "Schnitzel & Stories: Traveling through the History of Food," hosts Angelika Schwaff and Arlene Stein blend their love for food, travel, and storytelling into a captivating culinary exploration.
The pair originally met while traveling in the French Alps, writing about Michelin-starred restaurants, and have been friends for over ten years, both based in Berlin. Angelika is a food writer, photographer, and intrepid traveler, having explored more than 93 countries. Arlene has worked on the food and wine program for over 20 years, including a long-standing hospitality symposium, 'Terroir.'
They both love building connections through food, culture, and identity. They combine their expertise and engage in interviews with chefs from around the world to talk about iconic national dishes and how they find themselves at home in a particular place, considering history and cultural significance (and perhaps some slightly biased opinions). It's a unique blend of travel, storytelling, and culinary expertise that bridges cultures and histories. Sit with them as they chat with friends, discover recipes, and dig into the cultural richness of food. Tune in and savor the stories!
